Handmade.com includes built-in messaging on every order, making it easy to stay in touch with your buyers without leaving the platform. All communication is stored directly on the order, so your conversation history is always easy to find.
How it works
Once an order is placed, the Contact Buyer button becomes visible in your order view. Your buyer sees a corresponding Contact Seller button on their end. Every message sent through the system triggers an email notification to both parties. You can reply either directly in the order on the platform or by responding to the email notification—whichever is more convenient.
A note on pre-order messaging
Messaging is only available after an order has been placed. To keep transactions on-platform and protect both buyers and sellers, pre-order messaging is not currently supported, but may be available in the future.
If your product requires customization details or other information before you can fulfill it, we recommend adding instructions directly to your listing. For example: "Please message me after placing your order using the Contact Seller button, which appears directly on your order page."
