About this item

This striking contemporary wall mask showcases an innovative blend of materials and artistic techniques. The piece features a sculptural form constructed from fused glass in bold geometric sections of golden amber, iridescent red, and turquoise tones. The left side is adorned with an intricate network of black elements creating a textured, web-like pattern that adds dimensional interest. The dimensional construction (black braid stands 1/2" off the face of the glass) creates depth and shadow play, making this a captivating focal point for any wall.

Karla Ely Glass Pahrump, NV, USA | Why be Normal? (especially as concerns art)

I am largely a self-taught artist; though I have completed post-secondary classes in fine art, the bulk of my working knowledge over the past three decades has been gleaned via private instruction and self -exploration.

Daily observations often inspire new work - a walk in the desert, observing native flora or a visit to the seaside to glimpse the natural environment have all provided the impetus for new work.

My art is continuously evolving, and I am eager to employ novel techniques to create fused glass pieces that are innovative and engaging.
