About this item

This striking wall art piece features a contemporary abstract face rendered in vibrant fused glass elements.. The composition showcases a cubist interpretation with geometric shapes in bold colors including yellow, orange, red, blue, green, purple, turquoise, and cream tones. Each section is outlined with black edging that defines the facial features - stylized eyes with distinctive eyelashes, colorful lips in bright turquoise blue, and asymmetrical facial planes that create a three-dimensional, multi-perspective effect. The piece features textured metallic accents on one eye that add depth and visual interest.

Karla Ely Glass Pahrump, NV, USA | Why be Normal? (especially as concerns art)

I am largely a self-taught artist; though I have completed post-secondary classes in fine art, the bulk of my working knowledge over the past three decades has been gleaned via private instruction and self -exploration.

Daily observations often inspire new work - a walk in the desert, observing native flora or a visit to the seaside to glimpse the natural environment have all provided the impetus for new work.

My art is continuously evolving, and I am eager to employ novel techniques to create fused glass pieces that are innovative and engaging.

Commissioned work is welcome!
