My name is Jeremy Werkheiser, and I’m the artist behind Metal Relic. I create handmade metal art from my shop in Kingsley, Pennsylvania, turning steel, hardware, and raw materials into sculptures, roses, custom pieces, and functional art.
Metal Relic started as a way to build things with my hands, but over time it became something much bigger. Every piece I make is shaped by welding, grinding, cutting, forming, and a ridiculous amount of patience. I like taking hard industrial materials and turning them into something with life, movement, and meaning.
My work ranges from giftable handmade pieces to large detailed sculptures, including award-winning work shown in galleries and competitions. Whether it is a steel rose, a custom build, or a one-of-a-kind sculpture, the goal is always the same: create something real, built by hand, and made to last.
Handmade matters to me because there is a person behind the work. There are no shortcuts, no mass-production line, and no fake story. Just steel, fire, time, and the hope that the finished piece connects with someone.

I was first drawn to metal art because steel felt honest. It is heavy, stubborn, raw, and unforgiving, but with enough heat, pressure, patience, and vision, it can become something completely different. What started as an interest in building small pieces from hardware, scrap, nuts, bolts, and discarded metal slowly turned into a full creative path. I liked the challenge of taking material most people overlook and giving it shape, motion, and meaning. Welding gave me the structure, but art gave it purpose. Over time, Metal Relic grew from making cool metal objects into creating pieces that blend industrial grit with organic form. Roses, creatures, vehicles, sculptures, and custom work all come from that same idea: take something raw and transform it into something with character, story, and presence.

After a house fire, the loss of my father, and major life changes, I chose to keep moving forward and turn that pressure into purpose. I returned to welding, pushed my skills further, and competed through SkillsUSA, where my sculpture work earned state and national recognition. That journey shaped the way I see steel. Raw material can be cut, burned, bent, scarred, and still become something powerful. Every piece I build carries that same idea: transformation through pressure, detail, patience, and grit. Metal Relic is not just about making cool objects. It is about proving that broken pieces, hard seasons, and discarded material can be rebuilt into something with meaning, weight, and presence.
