Metal Relic Kingsley, PA., USA | Handmade metal art created from steel, fire, and a lifelong need to build something that lasts.
My name is Jeremy Werkheiser, and I’m the artist behind Metal Relic. I create handmade metal art from my shop in Kingsley, Pennsylvania, turning steel, hardware, and raw materials into sculptures, roses, custom pieces, and functional art.
Metal Relic started as a way to build things with my hands, but over time it became something much bigger. Every piece I make is shaped by welding, grinding, cutting, forming, and a ridiculous amount of patience. I like taking hard industrial materials and turning them into something with life, movement, and meaning.
My work ranges from giftable handmade pieces to large detailed sculptures, including award-winning work shown in galleries and competitions. Whether it is a steel rose, a custom build, or a one-of-a-kind sculpture, the goal is always the same: create something real, built by hand, and made to last.
Handmade matters to me because there is a person behind the work. There are no shortcuts, no mass-production line, and no fake story. Just steel, fire, time, and the hope that the finished piece connects with someone.
Maker BadgeOrigin Story
I was first drawn to metal art because steel felt honest. It is heavy, stubborn, raw, and unforgiving, but with enough heat, pressure, patience, and vision, it can become something completely different. What started as an interest in building small pieces from hardware, scrap, nuts, bolts, and discarded metal slowly turned into a full creative path. I liked the challenge of taking material most people overlook and giving it shape, motion, and meaning. Welding gave me the structure, but art gave it purpose. Over time, Metal Relic grew from making cool metal objects into creating pieces that blend industrial grit with organic form. Roses, creatures, vehicles, sculptures, and custom work all come from that same idea: take something raw and transform it into something with character, story, and presence.
Maker BadgeFamily-Owned
Running a family business means every order carries more weight than a normal transaction. Metal Relic is not just a shop name to me. It is something I am building around my family, my future, and the example I want to set. Every piece sold helps support a real household, a working studio, and the long-term growth of handmade metal art. For customers, that means they are buying from a real person, not a faceless company. I care about the quality, the details, the communication, and the story behind the work because my name and my family are attached to it. A family business is personal. It means showing up, building with pride, earning trust, and creating pieces that people can feel good about supporting.
Maker BadgeSmall Business
Being a small business means the work stays personal. Metal Relic Studios is not a factory, a warehouse, or a mass production shop. It is one artist building each piece by hand, one order at a time, with real attention given to the material, the details, and the person receiving it. For my customers, that means they are buying more than metal decor. They are getting something made by someone who cares where it ends up, how it feels, and what it represents. Every order helps support an independent artist, a working studio, and the continued growth of handmade metal art. I want customers to feel like they are part of that story, not just another transaction. When someone chooses Metal Relic, they are choosing original work, human effort, and a piece that carries the marks of the hands that made it.
Maker BadgePowerful Journey
Metal Relic Studios was built through fire, loss, and rebuilding. After a house fire, the loss of my father, and major life changes, I chose to keep moving forward and turn that pressure into purpose. I returned to welding, pushed my skills further, and competed through SkillsUSA, where my sculpture work earned state and national recognition. That journey shaped the way I see steel. Raw material can be cut, burned, bent, scarred, and still become something powerful. Every piece I build carries that same idea: transformation through pressure, detail, patience, and grit. Metal Relic is not just about making cool objects. It is about proving that broken pieces, hard seasons, and discarded material can be rebuilt into something with meaning, weight, and presence.
Maker BadgeCommunity Builder
Metal Relic is part of a larger creative community, not just a shop. I stay involved with regional arts organizations, exhibitions, public events, artist outreach, and education because I believe art should create momentum beyond a single sale. Through Metal Relic, I want to help connect artists, makers, collectors, students, and local communities in a way that builds opportunity and keeps hands-on creativity visible. Welding and metal art gave me a path forward, and I care about using that path to support others whenever I can. Whether it is participating in shows, helping promote local arts, sharing knowledge, or collaborating with other makers, the goal is the same: build something that lasts. Metal Relic is about finished artwork, but it is also about connection, grit, skill, and helping strengthen the creative scene around me.
