An original needle felted bird perfect for bird lovers with imagination. Meet Augustus Blackthorn, a retired vaudeville performer and “Former Director of First Impressions for the Society of Remarkably Interesting Birds.”

Augustus believes every day deserves a proper entrance and has never rushed anywhere in his life. When asked why he always wears a straw hat, he replies:

“Because opportunities rarely knock twice, but they do glance through windows.”

For years Augustus traveled from meadow to meadow offering unsolicited but surprisingly useful advice. Young birds sought him out for guidance on important matters such as nest placement, worm etiquette, and how to recover gracefully after flying into a closed window. Maybe Augustus reminds you of someone you know?

Although retired, he still considers himself available for consultation for a modest fee of one sunflower seed.
