"Hello, I'm Sukrita and my husband is Jitpanu. We first met at Chiang Rai, where Jitpanu was selling macrame bracelets made from wax cords at the Chiang Rai Night Bazaar. At the time, I had just graduated and would often visit my friend's shop nearby Jitpanu's stall. 2023 marks our 13th anniversary together.
"Our journey in crafting products emerged as an extension of Jitpanu's macrame bracelets. After we got married, we began exploring opportunities to work together. Creating pieces from cow leather immediately came to mind. We aim to infuse artistry and emotions into our leatherwork, crafting functional pieces that people would appreciate.
"We are self-taught in this field, learning through observation, watching, and memorization, and then conducting our own experiments. In the past, we have been invited to teach in various places, including detention centers for children, groups of conscripts nearing discharge, and for students at Universities. Our aim is to create career opportunities for those interested and foster self-reliance within our community. We teach techniques such as dyeing cow leather, stitching bags with waxed cords, and creating basic macrame bracelet patterns.
"Our product designs draw inspiration mainly from our travels. Exploring different places allows us to encounter new things, meet diverse people, witness various ways of life, and immerse ourselves in nature. We experience great joy each time we create a new piece of work. The challenge for us lies in witnessing the impact of offering a specific product for sale, as it brings us immense happiness when people not only appreciate but also choose to purchase and cherish our pieces.
