This artisan sterling silver necklace showcases three organically-shaped abalone shell links with captivating natural iridescence—rich greens, violets, blues, and warm flashes that shift beautifully as light moves across the surface. Two hand-fabricated reticulated sterling silver links create a striking contrast between the shells, shaped through a controlled heating that produces deep, sculptural texture.

Reticulation represents a labor-intensive metalsmithing process where silver is repeatedly heated until the surface layer ripples and contracts, forming richly organic ridges and texture. Since the metal responds uniquely during each heating cycle, every textured surface develops a distinct character, ensuring no two pieces can be identical. The oxidized finish accentuates every ridge and contour, creating artful dimensional appeal in the centerpiece elements. On the two oxidized links, small recycled sterling silver pieces have been fused for added texture.

Each focal component connects to a specialty long-and-short sterling silver chain, secured with a sturdy lobster clasp. At 17" length, the necklace rests at a flattering collarbone placement that showcases both the abalone color play and the distinctive silver textures without overwhelming the neckline. I’m Cristina, a dreamer at heart. I've always been a lover of beauty in nature and art, endlessly inspired by the diversity of cultures and the uniqueness of the world around us.
