About this item

These handcrafted Akoya pearl drop earrings bring together clean, modern lines with the timeless beauty of luminous pearls. Each earring begins with a sculptural sterling silver stud, shaped into a soft, flowing twist that adds subtle movement and dimension at the ear.

Suspended below, a round white Akoya pearl measuring approximately 6.5mm offers a refined, high luster with a smooth, glowing surface. Known for their classic elegance, Akoya pearls bring a sense of quiet sophistication, while the gently curved silver form gives the piece a more contemporary, artistic edge.

Measuring approximately 1.1" in total length and with a 0.25" drop, the proportions feel light, balanced, and easy to wear. The earrings move naturally with the wearer, catching light at both the pearl and the polished silver curves. Finished with matched sterling silver backs, they offer secure, comfortable wear throughout the day.

Created in a small batch, each pair is carefully made with attention to detail and finish, offering a thoughtful alternative to mass-produced jewelry while maintaining consistency in design.

Versatile by nature, these earrings transition effortlessly from everyday styling to more elevated occasions. Whether worn casually, paired with a polished look, or chosen for a bridal moment, they offer a refined yet distinctive presence.

Please review all photographs, measurements, materials, and item details carefully before purchasing.

Normal wear, accidental damage, improper care, misuse, loss, or damage occurring after an item has been worn does not constitute seller error.
If you believe your jewelry has developed a workmanship-related issue, please contact me through Handmade.com with photographs and details. I am always happy to review the situation and determine what solution may be appropriate.

The Happy Gems
To help preserve the beauty of your jewelry, avoid contact with harsh chemicals, cleaning products, acidic solutions, perfumes, hairsprays, lotions, sunscreens, and other beauty products.
Remove jewelry before sleeping, swimming, bathing, exercising, or participating in activities that may expose it to excessive moisture, perspiration, impact, or abrasion.
After wearing your jewelry, gently wipe it with a soft, dry cloth to remove oils and moisture. Store each piece separately in a clean, dry place to help prevent scratching, tangling, tarnish, and exposure to humidity.
Because gemstones, pearls, shells, and different metals can require different care, avoid abrasive cleaners or chemical jewelry dips unless specifically recommended for the materials in your piece.

TheHappyGems

Many designs are one-of-a-kind, while others are made in very limited series. My work ranges from textured and sculptural metalwork to colorful gemstone and pearl pieces, often blending organic forms with clean geometric elements.

I create jewelry because I’m endlessly inspired by the individuality of natural materials—the variations in a gemstone, the shape of a pearl, the texture created by heat and hammering, or the unexpected direction a piece can take while it is being made. Rather than designing for perfect uniformity, I’m drawn to character, movement, color, and details that make each piece feel personal.

The goal of The Happy Gems is to create jewelry that feels polished yet individual: pieces made to be worn, enjoyed, and chosen as a form of self-expression.

Cristina A. Phoenix AZ | Self-taught metalsmith creating distinctive jewelry inspired by nature, texture, and gemstones

A Dreamer at Heart

I’m Cristina, a dreamer at heart. I've always been a lover of beauty in nature and art, endlessly inspired by the diversity of cultures and the uniqueness of the world around us.

My journey into jewelry is woven from many passions: traveling, gardening, collecting gemstones and minerals, exploring food and culture, and above all, being captivated by the raw, natural beauty that the Earth offers.

From a young age, I was fascinated by gemstones and minerals—curious, rare, and endlessly surprising. The more I learned about the Earth’s immense mineral diversity, the more I realized there is always more to discover.

Finding My Language in Jewelry

Though my academic background is in foreign languages and the written word, I found that my truest self-expression flows visually.

I dream in colors, textures, and shapes, and jewelry became my language—a way to create wearable art that balances vibrancy with elegance, playfulness with depth.

Designing and crafting jewelry is both my creative outlet and my place of grounding, a space of healing and joy.

Where the Magic Happens

One of my happiest places is my studio, where the magic of making happens. There is something profoundly satisfying about transforming a simple piece of metal into a hammered, glowing form—or shaping a rough stone into a polished cabochon that reveals hidden beauty. Sometimes it means stringing hundreds of beads into a necklace that feels like a world of its own. Time disappears when I am creating.

Guided by Nature

The beauty of nature has always been my compass — especially the ocean and the shore, where I often recharge — as well as the work of artists I admire.

Some designs arrive as clear visions, while others unfold intuitively as I let myself be guided by the materials in my hands.

The Craft

I am a self-taught metalsmith and designer who embraces experimentation as part of learning. Many of my pieces feature fused, reticulated, hammered, and textured metalwork—techniques that reveal the raw alchemy of transformation I love so much.

Crafted with care, most of my pieces are one-of-a-kind and others created in very limited batches, slow made with attention to detail, imagination, and authenticity.

The Materials

My materials include sterling and fine silver, gold-filled, solid gold, brass, and copper, gemstones, pearls, shells, and ethically sourced or vintage beads that carry their own stories.

The Style

I am drawn to both the organic forms of nature and the clean balance of geometric shapes, often blending the two in unexpected ways.

Timeless yet distinctive, every piece is designed to carry meaning — identity, connection, and the joy of beauty.

I like to make jewelry that helps you stand out with elegance and individuality — not just adornment, but self-expression.

Maker BadgeHappy Place

My happiest place is anywhere I can slow down, notice beauty, and feel inspired—especially near the ocean, in nature, or in my studio surrounded by stones, metal, texture, and color. I love places that give me room to breathe and let my mind wander. That is often where ideas begin: in the shape of a shell, the color of water, the surface of a stone, or simply a quiet moment that stays with me. My studio becomes an extension of that feeling—a place where inspiration turns into something I can hold in my hands.
