About this item

This solid sterling silver cuff bracelet is forged from scratch, shaped and finished by hand to create a bold yet fluid, sculptural form. The surface carries a richly hammered texture that catches and reflects light from every angle, while the softly ruffled edges give the piece a sense of movement and organic character. A high-polish finish enhances the texture, creating contrast between subtle highlights and deeper facets within the metal.

Formed from solid sterling silver and weighing approximately 19 grams, the cuff has a satisfying, substantial feel without becoming heavy on the wrist. It measures about 6 inches in length with a 1-inch opening and a 0.75-inch width, giving it a strong visual presence while still feeling balanced and wearable. The proportions are designed to fit a standard medium wrist comfortably, with the open cuff allowing for a natural, slightly adjustable fit.

The shape is intentionally irregular and expressive, making each angle feel slightly different as it wraps around the wrist. It works equally well as a standalone statement piece or paired with other bracelets for a layered, more personal look.

The cuff is work-hardened during fabrication for strength and durability, then tumbled to achieve its final smooth, polished finish. While it has a sturdy structure, it is designed to maintain its sculpted form, so it’s best slipped on and off rather than repeatedly bent or forced open.

A modern artisan piece with presence, texture, and individuality—made for those who want something that doesn’t look like everyone else.

The Happy Gems
To help preserve the beauty of your jewelry, avoid contact with harsh chemicals, cleaning products, acidic solutions, perfumes, hairsprays, lotions, sunscreens, and other beauty products.
Remove jewelry before sleeping, swimming, bathing, exercising, or participating in activities that may expose it to excessive moisture, perspiration, impact, or abrasion.
After wearing your jewelry, gently wipe it with a soft, dry cloth to remove oils and moisture. Store each piece separately in a clean, dry place to help prevent scratching, tangling, tarnish, and exposure to humidity.
Because gemstones, pearls, shells, and different metals can require different care, avoid abrasive cleaners or chemical jewelry dips unless specifically recommended for the materials in your piece.

Many designs are one-of-a-kind, while others are made in very limited series. My work ranges from textured and sculptural metalwork to colorful gemstone and pearl pieces, often blending organic forms with clean geometric elements.

I create jewelry because I’m endlessly inspired by the individuality of natural materials—the variations in a gemstone, the shape of a pearl, the texture created by heat and hammering, or the unexpected direction a piece can take while it is being made. Rather than designing for perfect uniformity, I’m drawn to character, movement, color, and details that make each piece feel personal.

The goal of The Happy Gems is to create jewelry that feels polished yet individual: pieces made to be worn, enjoyed, and chosen as a form of self-expression.

Cristina A. Phoenix AZ | Self-taught metalsmith creating distinctive jewelry inspired by nature, texture, and gemstones

A Dreamer at Heart

I’m Cristina, a dreamer at heart. I've always been a lover of beauty in nature and art, endlessly inspired by the diversity of cultures and the uniqueness of the world around us.

My journey into jewelry is woven from many passions: traveling, gardening, collecting gemstones and minerals, exploring food and culture, and above all, being captivated by the raw, natural beauty that the Earth offers.

From a young age, I was fascinated by gemstones and minerals—curious, rare, and endlessly surprising. The more I learned about the Earth’s immense mineral diversity, the more I realized there is always more to discover.

Finding My Language in Jewelry

Though my academic background is in foreign languages and the written word, I found that my truest self-expression flows visually.

I dream in colors, textures, and shapes, and jewelry became my language—a way to create wearable art that balances vibrancy with elegance, playfulness with depth.

Designing and crafting jewelry is both my creative outlet and my place of grounding, a space of healing and joy.

Where the Magic Happens

One of my happiest places is my studio, where the magic of making happens. There is something profoundly satisfying about transforming a simple piece of metal into a hammered, glowing form—or shaping a rough stone into a polished cabochon that reveals hidden beauty. Sometimes it means stringing hundreds of beads into a necklace that feels like a world of its own. Time disappears when I am creating.

Guided by Nature

The beauty of nature has always been my compass — especially the ocean and the shore, where I often recharge — as well as the work of artists I admire.

Some designs arrive as clear visions, while others unfold intuitively as I let myself be guided by the materials in my hands.

The Craft

I am a self-taught metalsmith and designer who embraces experimentation as part of learning. Many of my pieces feature fused, reticulated, hammered, and textured metalwork—techniques that reveal the raw alchemy of transformation I love so much.

Crafted with care, most of my pieces are one-of-a-kind and others created in very limited batches, slow made with attention to detail, imagination, and authenticity.

The Materials

My materials include sterling and fine silver, gold-filled, solid gold, brass, and copper, gemstones, pearls, shells, and ethically sourced or vintage beads that carry their own stories.

The Style

I am drawn to both the organic forms of nature and the clean balance of geometric shapes, often blending the two in unexpected ways.

Timeless yet distinctive, every piece is designed to carry meaning — identity, connection, and the joy of beauty.

I like to make jewelry that helps you stand out with elegance and individuality — not just adornment, but self-expression.

Maker Badge Happy Place

My happiest place is anywhere I can slow down, notice beauty, and feel inspired—especially near the ocean, in nature, or in my studio surrounded by stones, metal, texture, and color. I love places that give me room to breathe and let my mind wander. That is often where ideas begin: in the shape of a shell, the color of water, the surface of a stone, or simply a quiet moment that stays with me. My studio becomes an extension of that feeling—a place where inspiration turns into something I can hold in my hands.
