"Majestic ships float peacefully off the banks of a river in this painting by Sadhana of India. The blue sky above blends with the blue water of the river below. The shadow of the ships that fall on the sparkling water creates a mesmerizing illusion. The artist uses cool tones of blue and grey that contrast with the bold brown and gold of the ships' masts."

"My husband was also posted to several hill stations and, during this time, I fell in love with nature. The longtime passion for painting that was within me blossomed. I used to sit in the garden and enjoy nature's gifts and put them into my canvases. It was great fun. While not painting, I used to do embroidery work as gifts for my family and friends.
"I have three children, one son and two daughters, who are all well settled. They used to tell me to do something to keep myself busy. They encouraged me to do something creative and this is how I started to take painting seriously. I joined an art school and I really love every bit of it. I feel like I have discovered something special within me. I love working on floral themes with bright colors. It gives me joy. In fact, children in my school call me 'Floral Aunt!'
"My husband is also always there to encourage me. I am really blessed with a wonderful family. I have exhibited my work in several galleries and have received a good response. I am happy to be associated with Novica. Novica gives me the inspiration to do more and makes me realize it's never too late to do something you love."
