Alzheimer’s is not just a disease you read about — it is something that changes the rhythm of everyday life for the person living with it and for everyone who loves them. It asks families to hold on tightly, to adjust constantly, and to find patience and tenderness in moments that can be heartbreaking.

This bracelet is my small way of honoring that journey.

The shades of purple represent Alzheimer’s awareness, but they also represent love, memory, dignity, and hope. Each bead is woven by hand into a flexible Kumihimo braid, creating a piece meant to be worn as a quiet reminder: you are not alone, your loved one matters, and every memory deserves to be honored.

Thirty percent of the proceeds from this bracelet will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association to support Alzheimer’s research.

Hi, I’m Tracy — the artist behind Bead & Braid Collective.

I discovered Kumihimo during a chaotic time when I needed something calming, structured, and creative. What started as a quiet creative outlet became a meaningful way to design jewelry with patience, intention, and attention to detail.

My Alzheimer’s Awareness bracelets were created from personal caregiving experience and a desire to honor families affected by Alzheimer’s. Each bracelet is designed with shades of violet, a color often associated with Alzheimer’s awareness, and is meant to symbolize love, strength, memory, and support. This collection is especially close to my heart because it reflects both the beauty and difficulty of walking alongside someone through memory loss. My hope is that these bracelets offer a small but meaningful way to show support, start conversations, and remind caregivers and families that they are not alone. A portion of the proceeds from each Alzheimer’s Awareness bracelet will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association to support their work in care, support, research, and advocacy.
