These are beautiful in person. Because they aren't very thick, the pattern looks like a stylish, colorful touch rather than dowdy. And, that's not to say that they aren't warm. I felt comfortable in them at around 40 degrees. And, I plan to wear them at 30 degrees too.

Very soft and well made
These are made from a very fine grade of yarn which makes them both soft and non bulky. I use them at work in the winter when the room gets so cold that my hands start to stiffen up. I can easily mouse, type and write with them on and the colors make me happy :)

The design itself is sharp; I get positive comments. The collar lays flat in a really nice way, which I wish was more common. It was also light and warm, as you'd expect for alpaca.I'll be wearing this a lot.One thing to understand about this sweater is that it's a bit of a square/boxy design. If you're a slim fit there will be slight bunching under the arms, and the turtleneck will slope in when zipped rather than conforming closely. The former isn't that serious, and some people may like the latter. I usually go for raglan sleeve designs instead, but I'm absolutely keeping this and will wear it happily.

This sweater's quality goes beyond the previous one I purchased from a "local" alpaca farmer. It does not shed, it is lightweight, and very warm. The previous one sheds, is not as warm, and is very bulky. I will purchase more of these sweaters in the future.

I ordered a Small because it was the only size available, and the previous reviewer said Medium was a good fit for his given size, so it seemed like a Small should be appropriate for my son (5' 10", 140 lbs) . However, I was still concerned it might turn out to be too small, but it is generously sized, and will definitely be large enough. (I haven't given it too him yet.)

I own another Fernando Cano sweater that has the same style and weave pattern as this, but these colors are more muted, which I really like. The designer's selection of colors is terrific and hangs together to create a beautiful, subdued sweater. And the zip collar, which I wasn't sure about, is handy on those winter days when the wind finds it's way in through my coat collar. A little extra warmth and protection when needed.

What a fantastic jumper
This jumper is beautifully made and is clearly an authentic Peruvian garment made with love and care. Alpaca wool is a clever temperature regulating wool. I wore it this year in Hokkaido - the northern island in Japan in temperatures down to minus 20 degrees C! It is a pleasure to wear and I have worn it in the UK Winter too.

My husband loved the pattern and the feel and quality but it was too small. Good deal for our grandson but I had to order an extra large to replace the one I bought for my husband for Christmas.For comparison purposes, he wears a 42 regular suit and usually buys large shirts.

This sweater is so much more beautiful and well crafted than I expected or even hoped for. Each row of color is not flat--but blended to form a rich and varied palette that is just gorgeous. It is extremely well made and sturdy and a lovely weight. My husband was blown away by this present. It came in sweet gift wrap with a hand-made little Andean figure on the bow. I usually check what I order by mail before giving, but did not wish to spoil the wrapping which was a very nice touch. When the gift was opened on Xmas morning, it was the star of the show! Love the craftsmanship, but I thought I was purchasing a sweater with turquoise in the pattern. The colors are more on the muted side, more heathered rather than crisp. The sleeves are a full 2 inches longer than I expected based on an earlier purchase, so the detail on the sleeves will be lost, as they will need to be rolled under.

The colors and workmanship of this sweater are just lovely. The reason I give it less than 5 stars is because of the shape and fit. Neckline is odd and higher in the front than it is in the back and sort of pushes my throat and is scratchy. Also the armholes are small. Sleeves themselves are comfortable, but not enough room in the armholes. I am 5'6", 134 lbs. I ordered a medium. I think the large would be too big. Overall the Med is a good fit except the tight armholes. If you have small shoulders and slender arms, this sweater would fit perfectly.

This sweater is lightweight, warm, and has a great fit to it. The pattern is wonderful and the colours give off a warm autumn feel. This sweater is great for transitional weather in the spring and fall. It doesn't fair so well in windy weather though as you feel the wind just cut through the sweater, however this also makes it very breathable and you generally won't find yourself overheating like with heavier sweaters. For colder weather this works well as an insulating layer underneath a jacket. I absolutely love mine and it's quickly become my primary sweater for most occasions. An excellent piece all around.

This sweater is beautiful and softer than cashmere. Honestly just incredible. Worth well over three times the asking price. The pattern is magical as the colors and weaves change to give a pleasant casual or dress appearance. Browns, blues and cinnamon. You can wear this sweater anywhere with anything and look stunning. The sweater has a nice medium weight and is about 1 inch longer than most sweaters. People in the norther latitudes will appreciate that! "I was born in 1973 in the district of Macate in Ancash. My parents were engaged in agriculture. I consider myself a very creative man, and very enterprising - I always want to be doing things, to go forward and never to stay behind. I'm very active and sociable. I trained a lot, in study centers like the Chamber of Foreign Trade of Lima and taking courses in Adex, all with a lot of practice and perseverance.

"One of my dreams is to continue growing as a textile artist, to be recognized not only locally but at the international level, and to give a better quality of life to my family. I love my art because it allows me to be very versatile in the design, the colors, and the textures to create each piece. I thank God who gave me this gift because today, I can say that I live what I really love. The road hasn't been easy, but it is worth it in every way.

"What I want to convey through my art is all my knowledge and practice that are reflected every time I finish a piece of apparel or an accessory, and I feel totally proud of the final result. I am currently a totally happy person, since very few people in this world dedicate themselves to something they really love, as I do. For me, this work means everything. I love and appreciate being able to move my family forward thanks to this."

Original Artisan Story

"The greatest challenge I've ever faced was getting my family to understand my passion for textiles. I was born in the Macate district of the Ancash department and my parents worked in the fields. My artistic origins come from my family — my uncles worked in textiles and, little by little, they introduced me to this world. I love being part of this world, where I can translate materials into beautiful, wearable designs.

"Getting started was difficult and my family didn't think I would make it, yet slowly but surely, I managed to prove them wrong. If you truly want something in life, you will do all that is within your means to get it.

"I've achieved every goal I have set for myself and, in this way, I have discovered new and wonderful techniques within this grand art form.

"As for hobbies, I enjoy playing soccer and, of course, everything related to the textile arts since I like playing with colors, fabrics and textures."

My work is motivated by a desire to show my art to people everywhere, from as many countries as possible! I would like my designs to transmit my experience and skills – each final piece is a proud representative of my creativity.

My work means everything to me. It's what I love and cherish, and I love the fact that I can provide for my family thanks to it. I consider myself a happy person and every day I strive to get ahead, not only in work, but also as a person, a husband, and a son.
