My name is Rahina Iddrisu and I was born in Accra in 1989. I create handcrafted batik bags and tablet sleeves. My friends describe me as creative, innovative and sociable.
I became interested in art as a child. I learned on my own and continued learning through practice. I mastered this craft by learning how to use the sewing machine and how to cut patterns.
Starting on my own was challenging because I had to combine different classes at school with practicing how to sew to perfection.
Pan-Africanism inspires me a lot. I use many African products to help boost local businesses. My favorite part of my work is the finishing because it helps me relax and the hardest part is the stitching.
