"My name is Putri Ety. I am the eldest of two children. I was born to parents who work as sculptors. Since childhood, I have been familiar with woodworking because I have been accustomed to helping my parents work. I grew up in a village where most of the people work as wood craftsmen. I fell in love with the art of wood carving when I was a child, because this work has been passed down from generation to generation by my grandparents.
"Since I married my husband who is also a wood craftsman, we have been able to exchange ideas and develop designs together. Having two children makes me work harder and produce the best work. In the art business, there are always ups and downs. There were times when products were difficult to sell, but I never gave up and even remained productive.
"In creating a work, my design inspiration is daily activities related to Balinese art and culture. Most of the work I produce uses suar wood, crocodile wood and waru wood. Every work that I produce always has very beautiful details and always takes into account Balinese art and culture. So everyone who sees my work can immediately recognize that this is a product produced by Balinese craftsmen.
"Together with Novica, I hope that in the future I can market my goods to a wider market. I realize this digital era requires us to have a marketing system that keeps up with the times."
