Handmade: A Global Artisan Marketplace USA
I was born in Accra-Zongo lane to Madam Esther and Mr. Benjamin Wiafie. I have three siblings, and as the firstborn I am known to be disciplined and hardworking. These attributes of mine came about because my parents were very strict on me and my siblings and imbibed Christian principles in us.
After my primary school education, I proceeded to JSS but dropped out along the way because of financial constraints. I picked up the arts and started training in it. I had a master who trained me and also trained other individuals to carve. Aside from carving, I learned the trait of seriousness from my master. For 10 years I stayed and learned to carve.
After I graduated from my masters shop, I opened up my own shop. In the beginning, acquiring funds to open up the shop wasnt easy, but I did it.
I am married with 2 children, a boy and a girl, who are both in school. I do my best to take care of my family; they mean a lot to me. Now I also finish the pieces that I carve. My inspiration comes from my imagination. I hope to be the best.
