Made Artini

"My name is Made Artini and I was born on November 29, 1972 in Tegalalang village, Bali. I've been interested in painting since I began studying at junior high school. After graduating from senior high school, I continued my study to STKIP Singaraja and chose the faculty of art and painting. At that time I wanted to transfer my young emotion into abstract painting. But then I turned to traditional painting. I learned this from Gampil, a teacher and a senior painter in Tegalalang.

"The natural world, its flora and fauna, is what mostly inspires me to paint. Mixing colors and transfering my ideas into the media is what gives me the greatest joy and pleasure. I have been in exhibitions in Japan, at Barwa gallery and at my university at STKIP Singaraja. I've also received a prize from my university for the best traditional painting."
