"I began to develop an interest in painting at a very young age, influenced by grandfather – designer, artist and engraver Joaquim Bezerra Paiva. When I was 30 years old I began to frequent the Association of Porcelain Painters. I received numerous awards including the first prize at the XV World Orchid Conference, held at Rio de Janeiro's Museum of Modern Art.
"A few years later I became interested in oil painting, encouraged by some of my students in porcelain painting. I now realize I find harmony and satisfaction in painting. My abstract work appears spontaneously, moved by the force of my spirit. My impressionist works are recreations based on photographs I have taken of the places I have visited in Brazil. One of the things I enjoy most in this life is to travel around my country and paint these recollections that allow me to relive happy moments.
"I have exhibited my paintings in various renowned galleries throughout Rio de Janeiro. I have also received various art awards for my work, including an Honorary Mention from the Brazilian Society of Fine Arts."
