Elsie Apetor cotton decor accents and women's fashion accessories

Handmade: A Global Artisan Marketplace USA
My name is Elsie Esinam Apetor and I was born in Accra in 1987. I create beads and I love fashion. My friends say I am humble, honest and caring.
I became interested in handcrafted art after helping my grandmother thread beads. My mother taught me to make beads and, in turn, Ive also taught friends.
I attended a polytechnic school to study fashion. It was difficult starting on my own because I had to purchase everything for my workshop by myself. I had to make sure I had everything to make it successful.
My mother helps me put the finishing touches on my creations. I mostly enjoy creating and designing new ideas and themes for my work. I am inspired by my surroundings and topics I research.
To find someone who will craft my designs the person must be able to have a good finish and create the exact designs over and over again. My favorite thing about this craft is creating and developing new ideas and themes for my work.
Once, when I had to make a presentation in school and didnt do a good job because I wasnt prepared. I was really embarrassed because I deviated from the topic.
My hope is for my designs to become recognized nationally and internationally. My plans are to create a training center that will teach and empower younger people.
