Edward Amankwah handcrafted wood masks

Handmade: A Global Artisan Marketplace USA
“I was born in 1960 and hail from the Eastern region of Ghana. Affability, humility and hard work are the qualities that you can describe me with. In dealing with humans, we always have to be ready for any circumstance, and be friendly to accept these circumstances.
“I am an individual who specializes in wood masks and decorative items, but as of recently I only finish the already carved pieces. I got trained through sessions at a workshop, and through my peers. I use materials such as sese wood, sandpaper, acrylic paint and recycled glass beads. My main interest in art is to use the culture of creation as a tool to share with the community. My hope is to persevere and strive to keep the family together, and to increase work volumes and profits. I draw inspiration from God, family and market trends. I work with a number of people, who in a way have been provided with employment. I hope to enjoy working with Novica.”
