Eduardo Villegas Reyes

Eduardo Villegas Reyes hand-crafted jewelry

"My name is Eduardo Villegas, and I am a silver artisan from Guanajuato who works with silver. I am 60 years old, and it's been more than 23 years since I had my first silver business. However, I didn't have much knowledge of metals back then. Over time, I became interested and started studying silversmithing, dedicating myself to this craft.

"I met a friend named Juan who taught me about Baroque silversmithing, and I also took classes at the school in San Miguel de Allende. Now, with more experience, I started creating my own designs of this classic craftsmanship. This art form is disappearing because there are very few artisans in this field. This craft is quite unique, with each piece requiring a minimum of 23 components. Each piece is made in a unique way.

"I've always wanted to work on my own, but I've encountered various obstacles. Now, at the age of 60, finding this opportunity to work independently gives me the encouragement to pursue my passion for independence."
