About this item

A beautiful Luna Oscura ring featuring a natural, slender marquise gemstone centerpiece with soft icy-blue tones, smoky gray, and intricate black matrixing that gives each stone its own one-of-a-kind character. The stone is 23mm x 8mm and is in a bezel setting accented with twisted wire, beads and stamped cutout wire. The handmade band has been fused, stamped, oxidized and left with a rustic finish. Size 8

Luna Oscura (often referred to as Dark Moon stone) is an uncommon, artisan favorite gemstone discovered in Hubei, China, in and around the same regional deposits where turquoise is mined. While it is not turquoise (as it lacks copper), it forms in a similar matrix environment.

Caring for your jewelry:
Remove your Jewelry when pursuing outdoor sports and activities, including gardening and swimming, and when you are doing heavy housework. Do not wear in the shower or bath.
Avoid excessive impact against hard surfaces, and contact with perfumes, cosmetics and household chemicals.
Never remove Jewelry by pulling directly on any of the stones.
Regular cleaning is important as soaps, lotions and other everyday dirt can build up and reduce the brilliance of the piece. Gently clean silver with diluted dish soap and water avoiding the setting. Dry completely then polish with a Jewelers Cloth.
Ultra-sonic cleaning is not safe for many gemstones so we advise against this method.
Tarnishing of silver is a normal process that is caused by oxidization and moisture from air as well as sunlight. To reduce tarnish and keep your pieces tarnish free for months at a time, it is recommended that you keep sterling silver jewelry in an air-tight protective bag made of tarnish proof materials or you can use a plastic zip lock bag. Storing jewelry this way also prevents it from rubbing against other surfaces which may cause scratching making it more difficult to clean.
Always Remember Jewelry should be the last item you put on and the first item you take off!
We provide FREE DOMESTIC SHIPPING - 1-2 BUSINESS DAYS. All purchases arrive in an Anti Tarnish baggie and are shipped boxed Priority Mail. Your purchase will arrive in a gift box with ribbon and is placed in an Organza bag, ready for gifting.

Silverwhimsies Jewelry

I started making jewelry in 2013 after taking a course in Metalsmith. I fell in love with the process immediately and open Silverwhimsies Jewelry. For a few years I traveled the east coast doing craft fairs and art shows until my body gave out, now I sell my jewelry online only. I hand make every ring, bracelet, necklace and earrings without casting or using mass production techniques. I use only the highest quality solid 925 Sterling Silver and natural gemstones. My goal is to make each piece as unique as possible and one of a kind. I do offer some "made to order" items where you can select your stone and/or size.

Silverwhimsies Jewelry Vero Beach, Florida | Unique, one of a kind and all handmade

I started making jewelry in 2013 after taking a Metalsmith 101 class at our local community college. I fell in love with the process so I opened Silverwhimsies Jewelry. Each piece of jewelry you’ll find here is completely handmade in my Florida studio, using ethically sourced natural gemstones and solid sterling silver. I design every ring, cuff, bracelet, and necklace with intention letting the character of the stone guide the final form. My goal is to make each piece as unique and special as possible and one of a kind. I also include some "made to order" items where you can select your size and stone.
