This is your own listing item.
The Intreccio Red Dinner Plate brings the artistry and character of traditional Deruta ceramics to the table. Hand-painted by skilled artisans in Deruta, Italy, it features the Penne di Pavone (Peacock Feather) motif in a rich palette of vibrant red, cobalt blue, and golden yellow.
At the center, the intricate interwoven motif creates structure and visual rhythm. Around the outer rim, visible hand-painted brushstrokes are intentionally left expressive, introducing movement and energy to the otherwise clean, simple border. The contrast between the detailed central pattern and the freer brushwork at the edge gives the plate much of its character and makes the hand of the artisan immediately visible.
Perfectly sized for everything from weeknight family dinners to more formal entertaining, the generous 11.2-inch plate provides ample space for entrées while allowing the hand-painted design to remain part of the presentation. Whether serving a simple pasta or a celebratory meal, the vibrant red palette gives the plate a warm, distinctive presence on the table.
Each plate is individually hand-painted using techniques passed down through generations. Subtle variations in line weight, spacing, color, brushwork, and glaze reveal the handmade process and give each piece its own character. The visible brushstrokes around the rim are an intentional part of the design, creating the sense of movement that distinguishes the plate from a mechanically uniform surface.
Crafted using traditional techniques and double-fired for lasting beauty, the Intreccio Red Dinner Plate is designed to bring Italian artistry, warmth, and character to everyday meals and meaningful gatherings.

- Variations and the Nature of Hand Painting
Each piece is made and painted by hand in Italy, carrying the subtle variations that give artisan ceramics their distinctive character.
You may notice differences in brushwork, color intensity, line weight, shape, glaze movement, rim finish, or surface texture from one piece to the next. These variations emerge naturally through hand-forming, hand-painting, glazing, and kiln firing, leaving visible traces of the artisan and the process behind each piece.
No two pieces will present exactly the same way. Color may deepen or soften, brushstrokes may vary in weight and movement, and the glaze may respond differently across the surface. Together, these details give each piece an individuality that cannot be replicated by mechanical production.
This is the character of ceramics made by hand: the design remains consistent, while the hand of the artisan makes each piece distinctly its own. These variations give the collection warmth, depth, and a sense of life at the table.
As handmade ceramics, slight variations in size and weight are inherent to the process. - Care & Use
Handcrafted in Deruta, Italy
Every Tavola Piena piece is individually handcrafted and hand-painted in Deruta, Italy using traditional maiolica techniques. Our ceramics are finished with lead- and cadmium-free glazes that are 100% food safe and regularly tested to meet FDA standards.
Cleaning
Hand washing is recommended to help preserve the beauty and vibrancy of the hand-painted finish. Dishwasher use is acceptable; however, repeated dishwasher cycles may gradually affect the appearance of the glaze over time.
If using a dishwasher, place pieces securely with adequate space between them to prevent contact during the wash cycle. For best results, use the air-dry setting or allow the pieces to air dry after the wash cycle rather than using a heated drying cycle.
Microwave Use
Your ceramics are suitable for reheating and warming foods in a microwave. Because earthenware naturally retains heat, use care when handling hot pieces.
As with all ceramics, avoid sudden or extreme temperature changes. Do not transfer pieces directly from the refrigerator or freezer into a hot microwave or conventional oven.
Natural Variations
Slight variations in brushwork, color, glaze, and shape are characteristic of authentic hand-painted Italian maiolica. These variations reflect the work of the individual artisan and make each piece unique.
About Crazing
Traditional Italian earthenware naturally expands and contracts with changes in temperature and humidity. Over time, fine hairline lines in the glaze, known as crazing, may develop.
Crazing is a natural characteristic of handcrafted maiolica and does not affect the food safety or intended use of the piece. Hand washing, minimizing sudden temperature changes, and avoiding repeated exposure to high heat may help preserve the original appearance of the glaze for years to come.

Tavola Piena offers hand-painted Italian ceramics created in partnership with artisan workshops in Deruta, Italy. Each piece is painted by hand using traditional techniques, so subtle variations in brushwork, color and glaze are part of its character.
I created Tavola Piena around a simple idea: beautiful tableware should not be saved for special occasions. Growing up in an Italian-American family, the table was where people gathered, ate, argued, laughed and stayed longer than they planned. I wanted to create collections that honor that tradition while feeling fresh enough for the way we live today.
Our pieces are designed to be used, mixed, layered and gathered around—not simply displayed.

Hours are invested into crafting and hand painting each piece in our collection.
Maker BadgeTurning a Passion Into Tavola Piena
After years in corporate leadership, I found myself drawn back to something that had always been a personal interest: the table, the food served on it, and the objects that make gathering feel special. What began as a hobby gradually became a passion, and along the way I developed a very specific point of view about tableware—beautiful pieces should feel distinctive and artistic, but they should also be used. Tavola Piena is my opportunity to share that perspective and to build something more personal around craftsmanship, Italian tradition, and the pleasure of a full table.
