About this item

The Intreccio Antipastiera celebrates the Italian tradition of gathering around beautiful food. In Italy, an antipastiera is a serving platter designed specifically for presenting an assortment of antipasti—from cured meats and cheeses to olives, vegetables, seafood, breads, and other small bites. Hand-painted by master artisans in Deruta, Italy, it features the iconic Penne di Pavone (Peacock Feather) motif, transforming every gathering into an elegant shared experience.

Thoughtfully designed with a generous central serving platter surrounded by seven removable serving dishes, the Intreccio Antipastiera offers exceptional versatility. Arrange cheeses, charcuterie, olives, roasted vegetables, fresh fruit, nuts, desserts, or your favorite antipasti while allowing guests to serve themselves with ease. The removable dishes make entertaining effortless while creating a stunning presentation that naturally becomes the centerpiece of the table.

Each piece is individually hand-painted using techniques passed down through generations of Deruta artisans. The subtle variations in brushwork, glaze, and color are not imperfections—they are the unmistakable mark of authentic handmade Italian ceramics.

Double-fired for lasting beauty and crafted with exceptional attention to detail, the Intreccio Antipastiera is designed to become part of your family’s most meaningful gatherings for generations.

Variations and the Nature of Hand Painting
Each piece is made and painted by hand in Italy, carrying the subtle variations that give artisan ceramics their distinctive character.
You may notice differences in brushwork, color intensity, line weight, shape, glaze movement, rim finish, or surface texture from one piece to the next. These variations emerge naturally through hand-forming, hand-painting, glazing, and kiln firing, leaving visible traces of the artisan and the process behind each piece.
No two pieces will present exactly the same way. Color may deepen or soften, brushstrokes may vary in weight and movement, and the glaze may respond differently across the surface. Together, these details give each piece an individuality that cannot be replicated by mechanical production.
This is the character of ceramics made by hand: the design remains consistent, while the hand of the artisan makes each piece distinctly its own. These variations give the collection warmth, depth, and a sense of life at the table.
As handmade ceramics, slight variations in size and weight are inherent to the process.
Care & Use
Handcrafted in Deruta, Italy
Every Tavola Piena piece is individually handcrafted and hand-painted in Deruta, Italy using traditional maiolica techniques. Our ceramics are finished with lead- and cadmium-free glazes that are 100% food safe and regularly tested to meet FDA standards.
Cleaning
Hand washing is recommended to help preserve the beauty and vibrancy of the hand-painted finish. Dishwasher use is acceptable; however, repeated dishwasher cycles may gradually affect the appearance of the glaze over time.
If using a dishwasher, place pieces securely with adequate space between them to prevent contact during the wash cycle. For best results, use the air-dry setting or allow the pieces to air dry after the wash cycle rather than using a heated drying cycle.
Microwave Use
Your ceramics are suitable for reheating and warming foods in a microwave. Because earthenware naturally retains heat, use care when handling hot pieces.
As with all ceramics, avoid sudden or extreme temperature changes. Do not transfer pieces directly from the refrigerator or freezer into a hot microwave or conventional oven.
Natural Variations
Slight variations in brushwork, color, glaze, and shape are characteristic of authentic hand-painted Italian maiolica. These variations reflect the work of the individual artisan and make each piece unique.
About Crazing
Traditional Italian earthenware naturally expands and contracts with changes in temperature and humidity. Over time, fine hairline lines in the glaze, known as crazing, may develop.
Crazing is a natural characteristic of handcrafted maiolica and does not affect the food safety or intended use of the piece. Hand washing, minimizing sudden temperature changes, and avoiding repeated exposure to high heat may help preserve the original appearance of the glaze for years to come.

Tavola Piena

I created Tavola Piena around a simple idea: beautiful tableware should not be saved for special occasions. Growing up in an Italian-American family, the table was where people gathered, ate, argued, laughed and stayed longer than they planned. I wanted to create collections that honor that tradition while feeling fresh enough for the way we live today.

Our pieces are designed to be used, mixed, layered and gathered around—not simply displayed.

Maker Badge Turning a Passion Into Tavola Piena

After years in corporate leadership, I found myself drawn back to something that had always been a personal interest: the table, the food served on it, and the objects that make gathering feel special. What began as a hobby gradually became a passion, and along the way I developed a very specific point of view about tableware—beautiful pieces should feel distinctive and artistic, but they should also be used. Tavola Piena is my opportunity to share that perspective and to build something more personal around craftsmanship, Italian tradition, and the pleasure of a full table.
