My name is Kwasi Asante. I am a hardworking and vision-oriented man. I was born in Greater Accra, specifically Kokomlemle, but during my infancy we moved to the Ashanti region. I was born to Madam Theresa Opoku, who is now deceased, and Mr. Yaw Adom. We are five siblings and I am the third born. We grew up in Kumasi. I had my basic education and my A-level education, and then I studied accounting and economics.
The art is a family business done by my elder brothers and my uncles, so even while in school, I would come back home to help finish some artworks and carve. My uncles and brother taught me to carve and finish wooden pieces. After school, I decided to join my family to do full-time carving and finishing.
After some years of mastering the job, I separated myself from my uncles to set up my own business. Currently I employ over 30 artisans whom I have taught how to carve and finish artworks.
I am married and have children, and my wife supports me in every way in my business. My inspiration is derived from what I see around me. My dream is to make it big in this business, and I pray that my works excite my customers.
