This exquisite wooden bowl showcases the natural beauty of this woods grain. This small wooden bowl is made from a piece of mimosa wood. This mimosa grew in our hay field and was accidently knocked down by a tractor mowing the field. This bowl is the last one made from that small tree. The growth rings are very wide because it’s a fast growing tree. I love the earthen brown, cream and green colors. This bowl has a tapered, undercut rim and a raised foot. It has a food safe, natural, oil finish. Its simple yet elegant design makes it a versatile piece for both everyday use and special occasions.

My name is Stephen Sanders. I am a maker of wooden bowls, puzzles, cutting boards and other assorted things for over 50 years. My job is to make something I can be proud of and highlight the natural beauty of each piece of wood I work with. Everything in my store I have made by hand in my workshop in rural North Carolina. Most of my wood is locally sourced but I do work with some exotics from South America and Africa.
