I’ve been working with wood for 53 years and I have seen a few pieces of wood that were truly extraordinary, this is definitely one of them. This pommele sapele wooden bowl has fantastic figure over every square inch. Turning it in the light just 10 degrees completely changes the pattern of the figure. The video shows it best. This is a piece fit for a museum. This bowl has a curved taper, undercut rim and a raised foot. It has a food safe, natural, oil finish.

My name is Stephen Sanders. I am a maker of wooden bowls, puzzles, cutting boards and other assorted things for over 50 years. My job is to make something I can be proud of and highlight the natural beauty of each piece of wood I work with. Everything in my store I have made by hand in my workshop in rural North Carolina. Most of my wood is locally sourced but I do work with some exotics from South America and Africa.
