This curly black walnut fruit and salad bowl has filled worm holes on the inside and unfilled worm holes on the outside. My bowls are soaked in denatured alcohol for 3-5 days before being waxed and wrapped in brown paper to dry. The bowls are dried for 9 to 12 months before being finish turned to their final shape. This bowl has beautiful curly growth ring figure and rich coloration from milk chocolate to dark chocolate with copper undertones. This bowl has a curved taper, undercut rim and a raised foot. It serves 6-8 depending on portion size. Food safe, natural, oil finish.

My name is Stephen Sanders. I am a maker of wooden bowls, puzzles, cutting boards and other assorted things for over 50 years. My job is to make something I can be proud of and highlight the natural beauty of each piece of wood I work with. Everything in my store I have made by hand in my workshop in rural North Carolina. Most of my wood is locally sourced but I do work with some exotics from South America and Africa.
