"I was born in 1948 to a conservative family in Delhi. It was necessary for a girl to know cooking, stitching and embroidery apart from all the other household chores. Necessity became passion, and I started teaching sewing and embroidery to younger generations, including my two daughters.
"When my husband shifted our residence to a village far from the city, I found myself teaching stitching and embroidery to new admirers — my neighbors. I started teaching them free of cost.
"I began with dresses and slowly moved to home décor and utilitarian designs like cushion covers, floor mats, handbags, belts, and more. As the number of students grew, so did the demand for our work. Our first customers were our many relatives and friends, then gradually we began offering our designs to shops.
"Little by little, I found I was no longer only a homemaker but also a working woman with seven to nine ladies assisting me. My main concentration has always been on quality.
"I am very much excited to work with you, as I think your concept is unique and I'm excited to be able to sell our designs directly to people overseas."

I recently filled this journal, and while it does not have a ton of pages, it is beautiful and very well-made. The stitching is very strong, the print on the cover is lovely, and the whole color scheme works well. It won't fit in a small purse, but it should fit in a medium or large one easily. I like that it's big enough to write medium or long poems in, but it's not so big that you waste a bunch of paper writing short poems, if you want to give them their own individual page. (You can fit a few very short poems, such as haiku or couplets, per page.)

I received this yesterday and it is so pretty I was just blown away. It does, in fact, look just like the picture. The handcrafting is unbelievable. I do lots of needlework but I could never duplicate something like this. The artisans who make these items are just amazing. It is all ready to go for my next outing. It is a perfect size for the items I carry. The strap is too long since I'm not very tall but that is an easy fix. I just love it.

Admittedly, these journals are smaller than I expected, but that's on me for not reading the description more thoroughly. It turns out that they are perfectly sized for my smallest purse, though! With my previous so-called "small" journals, I was unable to fit the notebook, my planner, my wallet, and all the assorted miscellany. That is not the case with these. Everything fits; they'll even fit in a pocket! As a writer, the convenience of being able to take them anywhere is invaluable. I find them to be ideal for writing haiku and short poems. The quality of the paper is superb, and they are beautiful, as well.
