Wendy And Carlos

Hello everyone, its a pleasure to introduce ourselves. We are Wendy and Carlos, artisans dedicated to creating products using the macrame technique. We were both born and raised in the town of Panchimalco, a place rich in traditions and colors in El Salvador. Although our parents were not artists, they recognized the artistic skills we possessed and supported us in taking drawing and painting classes from a young age. We began our artistic journey at an early age, taking drawing and painting lessons between the ages of 12 and 14. Over the next 15 years, we explored various artistic techniques and shared our knowledge by teaching others. In 2018, we combined our skills to form a unified vision and started our journey as artisans. Carlos first piece was an oil painting of a still life, while I, Wendy, kept sketchbooks filled with different studies, still lifes, portraits, and human figures. The versatility of macrame and its ability to connect with people are what drew us to this art form. We dream of having a space where we can work, sell our art, and expand into new markets. Both of us began our artistic training in a drawing and painting workshop, then continued our higher education at university, specializing in Graphic Design. Now, we teach art workshops ourselves, including drawing, painting, clay modeling, and material art. Our work is deeply connected to the history and traditions of our country, incorporating the colors and customs of our beautiful El Salvador. In addition to our art, we enjoy drawing outdoors, teaching what we know, and contributing to the artistic development of children and young people. In 2019, we were awarded the Innovation El Salvador 2019 prize by The Backyard, which inspired us to keep working with pride.
