"I was born in Bogota, Colombia but I live and work in Costa Rica. I fell in love with this country from the very first moment. My husband and I moved here with high hopes for getting ahead in life. It wasnt easy at first, even though we have professional degrees. It was hard to find work so I gathered my courage and decided to do something on my own. This led me to work in wood and today both my husband and I dedicate all our time to this craft.

"It was a quick decision, so I began developing my own designs. All my experience was acquired through trial and error. In 2016, I took a course in watercolors but I dropped out to focus on my wooden boxes.

"I eventually joined an association of women artisans. We have a program to teach women who dont have the skills needed to generate an income. With us, they learn to knit, crochet, weave, paint, sew or craft jewelry. We also teach gastronomy.

"I work with my husband. He has been my greatest strength, my right hand, and he always helps me with the entire crafting process. Im grateful to him because, whenever I feel discouraged, I can count on him to be by my side, lifting my spirits.

"Its wonderful to be able to share my designs with all of you. I know all our effort has been worthwhile. I love the idea of honoring Costa Rica. I feel so lucky and blessed to have the support of so many people who have confidence in my art."
