Kunlaya Pangsiri

"My name is Kunlaya Pangsiri and I have one daughter. My husband passed away when my daughter was just over a year old. I became interested in sewing when I was a teenager. At that time, I took on simple sewing jobs like making bags. I have been working as a seamstress ever since.

"An idea once struck me: why not incorporate Hill Tribe fabric into my work. Chiang Mai's rich ethnic diversity provided ample inspiration, with local markets brimming with unique, patterned clothing. By combining traditional fabrics with my own design, I create stunning bags that perfectly blend different styles. It fills me with immense happiness and delight to witness the positive reception of my creations.

"I feel a strong connection to my teacher and the educational center where I studied because without them, I would not be where I am today. I am very grateful to my teacher and friends for encouraging me. This allowed me to turn creating into my main career and provide an income for myself. It makes me feel very proud.

"I feel excited to take my products to the world and I will produce the best products with a unique identity. I hope that everyone who encounters my products will be captivated by their beauty and charmed by their uniqueness."
