Diana Duque

Bio

My name is Diana, and I was born in Colombia. Currently, I have two children whom I have raised with great effort since the early days of my craft. The beginning was not easy, but we overcame it. I am a single mother, and like any empowered mother, I have managed to move my craft forward for the sake of my family. If someone were to use three words to describe me, they would say that I am a very loyal person, protective of the people I love, and very affectionate in expressing my love and appreciation for others. Wood carving is a family legacy. It started with my great-grandparents, grandparents, and so on. I grew up seeing the hard work in this craft, from going out to get the raw materials in the countryside to cutting, carving, sanding, and adding fine finishes. From a very young age, I have enjoyed this manual work. I have been painting since I was very young, starting with experimenting with colors and creating basic shapes until I had the vision of placing my art on wood. I draw a lot of inspiration from nature, from Colombia, and its rich culture. I am proud to live in this country full of color, extraordinary fauna, and flora. It is a luxury to live here. What I enjoy the most about all of this is painting. I love seeing people amazed by my products. It brings me great joy and satisfaction to receive appreciation for my work.
