Our puzzles are made with maple or poplar, cherry, walnut and oak pieces. The box is made from a Baltic birch bottom and black walnut sides.
I have been making these wooden puzzles for over 50 years. Children who got these puzzles are now giving them to their grandchildren.
People often call these quilter's puzzles because the patterns are typical of quilts.
There is a trick (so to speak) to making all of the different patterns. See if you can figure it out. If you can't I will share the secret in an email. The large puzzle has 32 pieces and can be arranged in hundreds of symmetrical and asymmetrical patterns. Pictured are four symmetrical patterns.
The oak squares are 2" X 2" X 7/8". The box is 10 3/4" square.

My name is Stephen Sanders. I am a maker of wooden bowls, puzzles, cutting boards and other assorted things for over 50 years. My job is to make something I can be proud of and highlight the natural beauty of each piece of wood I work with. Everything in my store I have made by hand in my workshop in rural North Carolina. Most of my wood is locally sourced but I do work with some exotics from South America and Africa.
