Original Artisan Story

"I'm Carol Noriega Rengifo and I was born in Lima. I got my start in the world of art through looking at jewelry in shop windows. I loved what I saw, and I wondered why I couldn't make my own, if others did. So I tried.

"At first, my designs were simple and I'd ask how to craft them or how to finish something. Little by little, I acquired practice while I'd look for a specific detail in each piece by myself.

I'd describe this wonderful art as something delicate and elegant. I've worked as a jeweler since 2004 and my motivation comes from my creativity and inspiration at the moment. Sometimes I even dream that I'm crafting a design. I wake up and quickly make a sketch so I don't forget it then, later, I create it.

"I strive to transmit elegance and beauty in my jewelry so that the woman who wears it feels good about it and identifies with each piece. When I see my designs being worn, I feel so proud and happy. It's exciting to show my jewelry to my best friend and see that she likes it. This helps me and is part of what she knows of my accomplishments.
