My main objective is to rescue art and strengthen it. I was born in 1968 in a town in Guatemala's Chimaltenango department, a magical place. From the time you arrive, you'll fall in love with it. You'll see art expressions on every corner, on the walls of the local school and even in the cemetery where local artists and artisans depict scenes from our history. This is where my own passion for painting was born.
As a child, I enjoyed drawing and painting. With the help of my friends and school companions, I learned to paint.
One day, I met Hermelindo Mux, an artist renowned for his magnificent painting skills. He is a wonderful man with much knowledge and experience. He shared many tips with me that helped me to perfect my technique.
Everything he taught I've passed on to my son, who is also a painter. The time we spend together is really incredible. I love watching him work and being able to appreciate each of his paintings.
As an artist, I've been through some tough times such as my wife's illness and a debt I owed the bank but, thanks to my art, I was able to overcome them. Painting has blessed me with an income that's sufficient to support my family and give them a home with dignity. We've made progress together.
I love being able to depict the beautiful things that God gives us from the moment we awaken to see our families together. I love to share the enchantment of the highlands. That's why I feel so happy to be a part of your global family. It's a great opportunity and and I'm grateful for your support and trust.
