"Stately homes line the street, their austere walls hiding peaceful patios filled with flowers. Red clay tile roof tiles reveal the Spanish influence in Antigua, Guatemala's first capital. 'I love to depict Antigua's colonial beauty,' says artist Victor Mayor. He selects a palette of oils in pastel tones for this evocative painting."

As a child, I enjoyed drawing and painting. With the help of my friends and school companions, I learned to paint.
One day, I met Hermelindo Mux, an artist renowned for his magnificent painting skills. He is a wonderful man with much knowledge and experience. He shared many tips with me that helped me to perfect my technique.
Everything he taught I've passed on to my son, who is also a painter. The time we spend together is really incredible. I love watching him work and being able to appreciate each of his paintings.
As an artist, I've been through some tough times such as my wife's illness and a debt I owed the bank but, thanks to my art, I was able to overcome them. Painting has blessed me with an income that's sufficient to support my family and give them a home with dignity. We've made progress together.
I love being able to depict the beautiful things that God gives us from the moment we awaken to see our families together. I love to share the enchantment of the highlands. That's why I feel so happy to be a part of your global family. It's a great opportunity and and I'm grateful for your support and trust.
