$649Selected variation not available
This is your own listing item.
Called ‘Root Heart’ from my Earth Spirits Collection, my inspiration came from the fact that that this tree root piece likely came from the very center of the tree stump and has one small spot looks somewhat heart shaped that is surrounded by multi-colored swirls. . There are ribbons of light and dark sap formations, multi-textured root patterns that have been shaped to smooth flowing lines. I have added an Amazonite stone that is known for its calming effect in ways that promote vitality, the joy of life and confidence. for this piece is Because of its nearly 20 pounds in weight, the altar has been mounted on a large and heavy vintage cast iron lamp stand that is 11” in diameter and 5” high.
- 16 oz
- 24.5" high by 16" wide by 12" deep
- This unique one-of-a-kind nature altar has been hand sanded and shaped from a vintage 150-year-old
- sap-soaked Douglas Fir tree root. It was then rubbed with at least three coats of Danish oil in order to bring out the wood’s unique textures
- colors and sap formations. The centre has been carbonized suggesting that at one time
- the original tree had been subject to a small internal fire when it was young. Perhaps it was struck by lightning. Best guesses are that this likely occurred in the late 1800s and maybe around the time that Camp Capitola was established in 1874. There are ribbons of light and dark sap formations
- multi-textured root patterns that have been shaped to smooth flowing lines. I have added an Amazonite stone that is known for its calming effect in ways that promote vitality
- the joy of life and confidence. The wood dimensions are 24.5” high
- 12” wide and 16” deep at its widest point for a total height of 29.5" on the cast iron vintage lamp stand
- Location Suggestions: Because of its size, this piece needs a stand-alone corner in a living room, hallway or office. The location should be one where it can be a daily reminder of the interconnectedness of all things and a spiritual anchor to the Earth. It can also be housed outside in a shaded spot, though I cannot guarantee that the finish will last for any length of time and will need re-oiling from time to time if left outside.
- Periodically wipe with a damp cloth or soft brush to remove dust.

Gaiye's Earth Caretaker Nature Art Capitola, CA 95010 | I am an Earth Caretaker creating nature art that supports the Earth in her needed healing journey.
I am an Earth Caretaker, driven by a mission to proactively advocate for the Earth and support her in her needed healing journey. My personal Earth Caretaking Advocacy Plan takes many forms, including writing, podcasting and storytelling. Most recently, I launched a Substack Community (Gaiye’s Earth Caretaker Wisdom) where I share my life stories, anchored in the philosophy of The Earth Caretaker Way.
The Earth Caretaker Way is a ‘way of being’ in this world that gives purposeful voice and action to the environmental and spiritual needs of our planet on a daily basis. Based on a hopeful outlook, this includes helping restore the spiritual balance in our Earth, promoting environmental stewardship and strengthening personal relationships with nature.
A new branch that I have added to my healing journey has been the design and creation of nature art for celebration, reflection and reconnection with the Earth. Each piece of my nature art pieces is hand shaped from the root of an ancient 150-year-old Douglas Fir tree that was found in my backyard.
