"My father is a soldier, while my mother ran a shop to sell military clothing and accessories. I am their only daughter. I lived in a military camp until I finished high school. Then I moved to a coastal town on the Gulf of Thailand where I studied fine arts, majoring in computer graphics.
"At the time, my parents disagreed because they are both quite conservative people who wanted their children to study in the field of science. Many of our older generations believe that those who focus on math and science will have a better life than people who study art. But I insisted and eventually graduated.
"I then worked with a company. When I lost my first job, it was the most difficult time of my life so far. I still remember it clearly. I started looking for a new job and had a very hard time with my financial situation. I started my own website to sell craft work online but I had no experience at all. I lost half of my money in the first month, but I decided to stay strong and patient, and I overcame my problems. If I had given up, today I wouldn't be doing what I love most in my life.
"My work has been challenging every single day. At first, I could make only one sale a month. I began selling my own home décor designs and continue learning how to improve them. I've written down everything that matters, memorized the list and worked out a plan. Up until now, I've never stopped learning.
"Designing has become my life and still I look forward to making the best of it.
"The beautiful art and architecture of Northern Thailand has influenced my work and has made me passionate about my designs. Traditional Thai style is very delicate and I'm so proud to represent my country.
"I work closely with artisans here in the village who bring my ideas to life. Quality is extremely important to me. I believe that practice always makes perfect.
"Many of my materials are wood, for example, acacia and bamboo. They are difficult to work with and require expertise and experience to achieve the delicate details of traditional Thai design. All of my materials are environmentally friendly.
"It is so satisfying to know that shoppers like my work. I feel so proud to be able to make someone's day. That's what keeps me going, keeps me energetic and definitely inspires me as a designer.
"I am very glad that I can help bring work, earnings and knowledge to my community. They can be able to look after their family, children, and parents and have a better life."
