"A study on the survival of the weak in the food chain and also on the negative influence of men in polluting the ocean is what Balinese artist A. A. Darmayuda presents in this Surrealist-style painting crafted with oil paint on canvas. The composition shows a school of fish going after a candy tossed at sea and they know they have better chances of getting the prized meal if they stay together.
'This work was inspired by a group of fish fighting for food. A sweet red candy becomes the focus of the search for the fish. Swimming in groups is a defense system from vicious predators,' says the artist."

Humanity has vast and multiple dimensions that involve social and economic life. People always move, and they experience various stories of behavior and policy. All of the drama of life in my mind is the dynamism of the people I would like to depict in my paintings.
I often display my work at exhibitions throughout Bali and Java. I have a collection of paintings that usually focus around the grim political and social situations of my country. I am inspired by helping to develop awareness of the plight of the underclass and common laborer. A personal explanation is included with each of my paintings.
Art comes from the heart while worldly concerns are for the head and hands. Be pure in heart, and then you can grasp the beauty of art.
