Mountain Landscape Oil and Acrylic Painting from Costa Rica 'Blue Mountain' Item ID: 2671777459

This is your own listing item.
"Originally from Bogota, Colombia, and now based in Costa Rica, artist Carlo Jimenez draws inspiration from the beauty of that Central American country for this expressionist work with cubist elements. The oil and acrylic painting depicts a rectangular window through which a landscape scene of verdant green and distant blue mountains can be seen. Surrounding the window are geometric figures in various blue hues. 'The landscape and man have had an element that will always unite them, the soul,' Carlo comments, 'with this series I want to show, from a human point of view, every object that is visible in it, from the life of every tree, waterfall, grotto, every blessing that we are given on a daily basis and that we can appreciate in everything that surrounds us.' Titled 'Montana Azul' in Spanish."

"The artist should be spiritual in essence and, of course, very creative. However, technique is the tool that permits us to draw closer to what we want to portray.
"I was born in Bogota in 1970, and studied art at Colombia's Universidad de la Sabana. After graduating, I taught fine arts for seven years.
"I then moved to Costa Rica and have worked exclusively at painting since 2005.
"Through my paintings, I strive to transmit harmony and balance with shapes and colors, creating a beautiful landscape that is delightful to view.
"Art lets us be ourselves and, as artists, we enclose ourselves in our art like mice in a library.
"Today, I alternate my time between Costa Rica and Colombia where I've developed projects that let me focus my ideas on a visual projection on the path toward a profound and intense dialogue with the viewer.
"I want my work to transcend the depiction of an object. I want to create a humanistic vision, something with feeling and from a human viewpoint.
"Imagination comes not only to produce extravagance and to distract us from the rigor of thought also to collaborate with thought." Carlo Jimenez has shown his work widely in solo exhibits in Colombia and Costa Rica.
