"My name is I Wayan Buana. I was born in Sukawati, Bali in 1974. My father was a civil servant while my mother was a food seller. I'm the oldest of four children. I remember my childhood was so happy. My parents really loved and took care of their children well. Because our family's economic condition was so limited, I worked after school so I could pay the school fees for my siblings, and also help my parents.
"I like sports like badminton, and I often exercise near my house. In Sukawati, most of the villagers are wood carvers, silversmiths and clothing sellers. It's also famous because of its rich culture and arts. For those who are looking for inspiration, you can find tons of ideas amid Bali's tranquil atmosphere and beautiful scenery.
"My enthusiasm for silver jewelry crafting started when I was still in the 6th grade. The father of well-known featured artisan Komang Wijayana was the one who taught me. Once I was around 15, I was finally able to create jewelry by myself and help out with orders from clients.
"I married a Balinese woman who had been in a relationship with me since junior high school, and now we've been blessed with two daughters and a son. The period shortly after we got married was our most difficult. The economy wasn't good at all. Many people took my silver jewelry on consignment but didn't pay, and I had to sell my work door to door.
"The breakthrough happened when I began working with you. By then, my first child was already eight years old. When I remember that time, I always give thanks to God for helping me through that moment. There is one thing that I maintain in this life — that God can give one everything, so just keep praying. One thing that I always pray for is a long life so I can continue crafting jewelry and provide for my family.
"I really love making silver jewelry, and I love all of my designs. Yet there is one that I feel is especially great, which is my 'Face of the Moon' ring. I designed it, and all of my work is based on my designs. Usually I sketch a design, then I give it to the artisans who collaborate with me. There are 18 of them who work brilliantly with silver. We use ordinary tools, such as silver plate tools, scissors, hard saws, and polishing machines.
"Another thing I love about making silver jewelry is that I can also preserve my ancestral culture. Most of my designs are influenced by Balinese traditions, and also the beauty of nature on the island.

These earrings are a nice size, not too big, not too small. Just perfect. They do:show up. The pearls add a dressy effect if you wear them with something dressy, yet they look great casual also. They are very well made. I have purchased from Buana before and I’ve never been disappointed.

This ring is very pretty and well-made. I quit wearing it, though, because the little tips on the bottom snagged on things, including my clothing. I would prefer the ring without those two little tips for that reason. Also, the silver tarnished. I don't like to polish silver so I wish the silver was anti-tarnish.

My heart is very happy. I bought this ring to replace one which came up missing about 25 years ago. It was a family heirloom passed down to me and not only was I upset about that, I had loved that ring. I adore this ring. The stone is exactly the same size, faceting, and lovely deep amethyst color as well as bezel. I could tell, immediately upon taking it out of the pretty little gift bag in which it was enclosed, that is was made by an artist who took pride in his work. I love this Modern Rectangular Pearl Nature Design because it's a different take for a pearl silver pendant with a different geometric shape. It's great for everyday use with this black leather strap or my own silver chain too for a special occasion, paired with my favorite everyday pearl button earrings. In my opinion, it's the oval shape of the onyx and the width of the ring that gives it an elegant look, especially with the beautiful detail. Not too fancy, though, to go casual. Well worth the price. The stone is raised a bit. Medium weight and smooth inside, easy to wear. Does not snag on anything. A size 6 is usually right for me unless a ring is wide all around - but figured with the large stone a 7 might twirl around on my finger. Ordered a 6 & it fits snug enough to prevent that. Can't see myself wearing it while loading the dishwasher or weeding the flower beds - but it'll be perfect with black denim when going somewhere.

I purchased these earrings as a gift for my wife. She gets compliments nearly every time she wears them. I eventually bought her the matching necklace and then the matching cuff bracelet (peridot and carnelian cuff bracelet, 'Moon Queen'). The entire set is stunning. Excellent craftsmanship with fine detail, and the cuff bracelet has a beautiful finish (the photos on the website do not do it justice). Each piece is rather hefty, indicating a high silver content (not hollow). If you are considering any of these items, do not hesitate to purchase.

'Sleepy Moon', pendant necklace needed to have to be seen worn with a sterling silver chain before I could see the pendant's beauty. The chain I am using is shorter than the black, material chain that came with the pendant. The shorter chain, 16", is good because the pendant is more noticeable at this length. The citrine on the pendant I received is much lighter than pictured and does not have sparkle. The pendant a silver chain is still beautiful. I have dangle earrings that have the moon face, also have the cow bone ring, 'Face if the Moon', and 'Ocean Soul' bracelet. May try wearing all of these Buana's jewelry together. The darker color around the face, even though in a tiny area, is a good artistic, design effect. Also the silver decoration adds texture to the design which makes the pendant interesting and eye catching. Happy with all Buana's moon face jewelry items.

I had purchased a similar ring several years ago from a different source. I was very disappointed in it, and returned it. I have been looking for one ever since, and came upon this one from Buana. I have several of his other pieces, so I decided to take a chance. I am so glad I did!!! This piece is more lovely than the picture depicts. This is truly a lovely piece! Unfortunately, it is large -- to large for my friend who received it. She is petite and I should have considered the dimensions more closely. But if you are not tiny in size -- or just like large jewelry -- and love the colors (the citrine and peridot are lovely but not colors I wear well) then this is a great statement piece. This ring is beautiful. You can see that it is carefully crafted. The ring is smaller than it looks in the picture (this doesn't bother me) but for some people this may be an issue. Inside there is a lovely box with a postcard and also a little booklet containing the artist's inspiration for the ring. The attention to detail, even in the shipping is really thoughtful. These earrings look just like they do on screen—quite lovely, with beautiful detail in the silver. The stones are clear with reasonably saturated color. My only concern is that they are a little too heavy for frequent use; I am always aware of them whenever I wear them, and it feels as though they pull my earlobes down slightly (but not visibly). I still wear them, just not as often as I would if they were lightweight.

I definitely like this ring (rings); however, I don't think it is comfortable wearing all three together as it feels tight. I purchased this in the usual size 8 not thinking to move up a size if I intended to wear all three. Nonetheless, as three individual rings, you can't beat the price and quality.
