When I was 12 years old I won a scholarship to study at a school run by nuns. They taught us many things, including different crochet techniques.
One of the reasons I enjoy this art form is that it relaxes me. My designs mirror the convergence of different cultures and traditions, since my mother is from Trujillo and my father from Huancavelica.
I've been crocheting sweaters, shawls, and ponchos for most of my adult life. I love combining patterns and coming up with new designs.
My life's journey has taken me down the path of education, and now I also teach. I love creating innovative models and new trends!
I'm so excited about joining Novica, because they are giving me the opportunity to share my art and culture with you, and that in itself is further motivation for my work! concludes Marianella with a smile.
