"Hello, my name is Francisco Sánchez and I am the second generation of jewelers in my family. Today there are three, as my daughters have also chosen this vocation.
"Thanks to my father's influence, I began this beautiful occupation at a very early age. Art has formed a part of my life through my studies in architecture, painting, sculpture and jewelry. I was honored with a scholarship to study Foreign Trade in Rotterdam, Holland. In 1968, I founded a small workshop that I still direct and I personally design my pieces. I have exhibited my work in the U.S., Taipei, Munich, Vancouver and other countries. I have received several awards throughout my career, such as the Jalisco Award in Jewelry Design in 2000.
"My designs are inspired by pre-Hispanic codices and the folklore of my country that I love so much, using different motifs from our own culture. I very much like the ideas from our ancestors, always with a characteristic stylization reminiscent of our cultural and artisan past. I especially enjoy designing jewelry. I am always looking for something different to incorporate into my ideas, striving to be at the vanguard in the styles with which I deal.
"To create my jewelry, I first take a prototype of the design. I make a model with brass. It is mounted on a silver sheet, covered with a gummy paint, and burned in a petroleum flame to smoke the design. It is cleaned of impurities and polished. Each product that I design and craft is made of fine silver with Italian alloys and anti-oxidants to exceed the expectations of the most demanding clients."
Francisco Sánchez signs his work as Citlali, meaning "Star" in the Náhuatl language. "That way, everyone wearing my designs has a star to accompany them," explains Sánchez.

I have several pairs of earrings by Francisco Sanchez, and I like all of them, but these are my favorites. His earrings are high quality silver, have a nice medium weight, and these are a good size, big enough to show through my hair, but not gaudy. I like the Aztec reference, but they still look modern and go with lots of outfits, for work or play.I bought these for a friend, as well, because she liked mine so much.I also like his double-headed serpent earrings, for when I'm feeling a bit snaky.

Very lovely, quality, sturdy construction. The only flaw is that I wish there were two sides to the moon. I'm not sure how to wear them to show off the beautiful face --- moon face towards my face or against.

I love these earrings, but would have given 5 stars if there had been equal detailing on the back. As it is, it's difficult to get both earrings to show the detailed side at the same time. But they are good quality, larger than expected, and a decent quality silver. Beautiful.

These earrings are fantastic! Bigger and heavier than I expected they are truly beautiful. The hinge is very well made and sturdy (if you've bought this style earring before you know sometimes the hinges are not very strong. No worries with these!). I'm not taking them out of my ears any time soon!

i'm a bit particular about earrings. i never have just the right pair. they have to fasten in just the right way, be the right weight, and go with various outfits. therefore, i never have the right ones. i looked at these earrings for awhile before deciding to buy them. i am so glad i did. i picked them up from the post office today and am wearing them now. lightweight, easy to fasten, yet secure. security is important. i've lost many an earring. they are shiny silver. i am a cancer, the moon is my sun sign. i so love the moon. i made the right choice.. my kindest regards to mr. sanchez for his work. i am feeling very blessed today and these little earrings added to it.
