“To learn different activities, there is no other formula than to work on what you want. I am a sculptor by trade. After graduating with my degree, I began to experiment with different materials and mixed techniques. Then I took a course in vitromosaic with a great master from whom I learned a lot. The material and its wide uses fulfilled me completely, and I began to carry out artistic projects.
“Later, I got to know fused glass. Being a relatively new technique, I looked for courses and acquired the necessary material and tools. Currently I have more than 10 years of experience in the field of glass fusing. I had to make a great effort to be able to acquire the necessary equipment and tools, to finally have my own workshop and work on glass.
“I work with meltable glass and oxides such as cobalt, manganese, copper and sodium. I also work with stained glass, silver, stainless steel, beads, metal forgings and sometimes with recycled glass such as glass bottles. It is a very versatile material, malleable if you give it all your attention. To obtain great results, there is no other formula than working with each of the materials, making mistakes and successes but learning from them.
“Mainly, our pre-Hispanic cultures inspire me to create a wide variety of designs, as well as other cultures from different parts of the world. I seek in each piece to stand out with a different touch; to create truly unique pieces. Sometimes when I think of everything there is to create, I don't know if my life is long enough to do it.
“I would love to continue working on everything that I am passionate about, to continue growing through my art together with my wife, who is currently working with me and has become my apprentice, and to position my business and grow as a person.”
