This lovely shallow black walnut bowl has both sapwood (the layers under the bark) and heartwood (the layers near the center of the tree). Another way of looking at it is old and new growth, the sapwood being the new growth. Here you see red, pink and green/gray as well as the browns. This rainbow walnut bowl would make a fine wedding gift or anniversary gift. I am known for the finish on my handmade wood bowls. I have been making hand turned bowls for 60 years and I am still in love.

This bowl has a food safe, natural, oil finish.
