Bio
"I'm Elizabeth Selly, born in Bengkulu. Bengkulu is a small city known for its many beaches and mountains. My late father used to work in a mining company, which meant we frequently moved from one city to another. My father was a very disciplined and strict person, and my mother was deeply loyal to him. My father passed away when I was 12 years old. After his death, my sister, my mother, and I moved in with my grandmother in West Java. I pursued a college education with a major in fashion and textiles, earning scholarships due to my achievements.
Â
"My professional journey began at the age of 22 when I started working as a designer for a Korean company based in Bandung. This initial experience led me to work as a fashion stylist and eventually as an accessories designer for a company located on the island of Bali. This marked the beginning of my belief in following my passion. I found love in the creative opportunities this field provided. I have a deep fondness for travel and adventure in nature, which is why I fell in love with Bali. It allows me to be close to nature and immerse myself in the beautiful Balinese culture.
Â
"Creating dyes from natural materials is the most challenging aspect of my work. It's in this process that I can experiment and find surprises in every color outcome. The real challenge lies in upcycling leftover fabric into more useful products. I firmly believe that choosing organic and sustainable materials can have a positive impact, not only on our health but also on the environment. All the products I create are made from 100% natural fibers."
