"I studied in the School of Fine Arts in Rio de Janeiro for several years before changing my major to communications. But I taught art in the state educational system and also worked with theater.
"My relationship with art began very early in life when I was still a schoolgirl taught by German nuns. They believed that art is very important to their students' development.
"For many years, I painted on porcelain, but my interest in expanding my forms of expression led me to paint on fabric. I took a number of courses where I learned and developed decorative print techniques.
"Seeking still greater artistic freedom, I turned to acrylic on canvas where I share a little of my vision of the world."
Anabela sometimes uses the artistic name of Bell Costa.
