This quartersawn white oak wooden bowl was made from a tree that fell in a storm 40 years ago. I got the tree sawed into planks and have stored them in my shop since then. I only have a few pieces left. Most of the tree is was used to build a staircase and kitchen in my house. There was a musket ball lodged in the tree that was cut in half during the process of making the planks from the logs. The logs were so big in diameter that I had to rip them in half lengthways with a chainsaw so the sawmill could cut them.
This small oak bowl would make a very welcome housewarming gift. The five year anniversary gift is wood, hint, hint. This oak wooden bowl is perfect for Mothers Day and when Momma's happy...
