Kriti Seth
Hello friends! My name is Kriti Seth, and I hail from the pink city of India - Jaipur, though I was born in Udaipur. Since childhood, I have always been fascinated by the wonders of nature-whether its the majestic mountains, serene lakes, flowing rivers, or the birds, animals, and all the beautiful creatures that call nature home. I used to express this love through my drawings, capturing the essence of the world around me. It was my way of connecting with nature, and it filled me with joy. After my marriage, I moved to Jaipur, where my husbands family has been in the gold and diamond jewelry business for generations. This family business was steeped in tradition, and I soon found myself surrounded by a world of precious gems and beautiful jewelry. I had always dreamed of starting something of my own, and with a background in business management, I knew I had the entrepreneurial spirit to make it happen. My husband, knowing about my love for creativity and nature, encouraged me to explore the world of semi-precious stones and jewelry design. His family had a wealth of knowledge about gemstones, and he introduced me to this colorful world, where each gemstone has its own unique story. The idea of working with gemstones that connect me to the earth and create beautiful pieces of art felt like the perfect fusion of my passions and my business aspirations. What truly excites me about this art is the semi-precious stones themselves. The colors are vibrant, and each gemstone has its own shape and character. I find it fascinating how light reflects off each gemstone in its unique way. When I work with gemstones, whether individually or in combinations, I see stories emerging. I love the challenge of creating designs that reflect the true essence of the gemstones, making sure each piece tells its own narrative. I spent countless hours learning about different gemstones-their qualities, their energies, and how they interact with each other. My designs are deeply inspired by nature: the sun, moon, stars, trees, flowers, rivers, and animals are just some of the things I draw inspiration from. I love creating pieces that capture the beauty of these elements, and when I design, I think about the way each piece can convey the essence of the natural world. Though it wasnt easy starting my own venture, I am fortunate to have the love and support of my family, which made the journey smoother. My husband, with his deep understanding of the technical side of jewelry making and his knowledge of gemstones, has been a constant source of guidance. He helps me select the gemstones, design the pieces, and ensures that each creation meets the technical standards. My daughters also play a crucial role in contributing their modern ideas to my designs. They bring a fresh perspective to the process, which I truly value. As a family, we all work together to make sure every step of the jewelry-making process is executed perfectly. My husband and I work closely with the artisans, guiding them through each stage, making sure that the designs are brought to life with care and precision. We ensure that the artisans understand the concept behind each piece and help them see the beauty in it. Its a collaborative effort that brings out the best in all of us. I am also committed to working with artisans who share my values, especially when it comes to ethical practices. I firmly believe in fair labor practices, and I strive to work with artisans who do not employ child labor. I also make it a point to hire and train women in the craft of jewelry making, particularly in the delicate art of polishing and other aspects of production. By offering these women an opportunity to learn and grow in the craft, I hope to create a positive impact on their lives and empower them in their own journey. The COVID-19 pandemic was a challenging time for all of us, but I made sure that my artisans continued to receive regular payments and work from home, so they could support their families. It was essential for me to ensure that they were not left without work during such a difficult period. This was not just about business; it was about showing empathy and standing by the people who are part of my journey. I am proud that we were able to provide them with support and stability during such an uncertain time. Looking forward, I dream of leading an organization based on core values like hard work, honesty, trust, empathy, diligence, and commitment.
