"My husband Ariel and I have worked with you since 2004. We began right after moving from Matamoros. We discovered you at a craft fair where we were exhibiting our work. At first, we experimented with several different crafting techniques such as stoneware ceramics. We wanted to see if we could grow with each technique. This is how we eventually arrived at decoupage.
"Decoupage isn't complicated, which lets us focus more on quality and increasing the variety of our designs. In this way, our workshop achieved a great workflow and, with your support, our income began to grow. For us, you offer a world-class marketplace that we appreciate and is, in fact, the basis of our day-to-day work.
A challenge that arose was our capacity to create what we'd imagined, but we entered into a pact with our assistants. We needed to provide them with more training and help them feel an enthusiasm for their work each day.

"Hi. I'm Ana Maria Gonzalez and, for as long as I can remember, I've been in contact with arts and crafts. My whole family produced them in one way or another and, whenever we'd visit our relatives, my cousins would and I would end up making something for fun.
"After I married, my husband and I created different kinds of handicrafts, but the need to make something different led me to launch my own collection of designs. I began making decorative boxes, painted by hand with different finishes. Today I craft boxes with vintage motifs.
"First we craft the boxes of pinewood. We sand them and then decorate them. Currently, I'm working in decoupage, adding an antique finish with a special formula I mix myself.
"My designs reveal a tiny bit of Mexico that I carry in my heart."

Another wonderful art piece from Ana. The design is gorgeous, especially the couple on the lid celebrating with a bottle of tequila. The colors are so vibrant as is the gold edging on the lid and base. I bought it mostly for show, but the drawer and lid compartment are great for keeping track of small items. I live close to the border with Mexico and have learned a lot about the culture since moving here decades ago. I always liked Halloween, but since becoming aware of the Day of the Dead I immediately took to it. I spend that day each year thinking about the people of significance in my life who are gone, and how one day I too will make that journey. I think the celebration is handled much, much differently in Mexico, but I am happy to have found this small momento to remind me of this important occasion every day. The craftsmanship is very well done. This is the second box I have purchased from this artist and I plan to add another soon. The compartments are not lined, but this can be added easily. Check dimensions so you are not disappointed with sizing. Also, note that the brightness of the colors can vary due to photography settings and computer monitor resolution.

Another "home run" for Ana Maria Gonzales in my book. This small box could be placed almost anywhere and used as a keep-safe for many things, but especially to corral stray jewelry bits and pieces. The interior is plain, stained pinewood, but a bit of cushioning felt could easily be added if desired. I adore the graphic: colorful, bright, happy, and amusing. As with all her boxes (I have five at present and three more on order) the execution is perfect. And I do mean flawless. This is a quality object. The lid fits exact and square, and is securely attached with two perfect brass hinges. The little drawer has a shiny, brass pull, well-secured. The edges of both the lid and the pedestal bottom are double-beveled, and finished in a burnished, antiqued gold. I love this little box--bought it for a gift, but couldn't give it away after it was in my hands.

This little box for packets of tea is so very cute. I had thought it would have been larger but this size actually fit very well by the salt & peppers shakers so I like that. Now if someone wants tea I don't have to get on my stool to get the box of tea down. It is very well made also. Thank you.

"My husband Ariel and I have worked with you since 2004. We began right after moving from Matamoros. We discovered you at a craft fair where we were exhibiting our work. At first, we experimented with several different crafting techniques such as stoneware ceramics. We wanted to see if we could grow with each technique. This is how we eventually arrived at decoupage.
"Decoupage isn't complicated, which lets us focus more on quality and increasing the variety of our designs. In this way, our workshop achieved a great workflow and, with your support, our income began to grow. For us, you offer a world-class marketplace that we appreciate and is, in fact, the basis of our day-to-day work.
A challenge that arose was our capacity to create what we'd imagined, but we entered into a pact with our assistants. We needed to provide them with more training and help them feel an enthusiasm for their work each day.

"Hi. I'm Ana Maria Gonzalez and, for as long as I can remember, I've been in contact with arts and crafts. My whole family produced them in one way or another and, whenever we'd visit our relatives, my cousins would and I would end up making something for fun.
"After I married, my husband and I created different kinds of handicrafts, but the need to make something different led me to launch my own collection of designs. I began making decorative boxes, painted by hand with different finishes. Today I craft boxes with vintage motifs.
"First we craft the boxes of pinewood. We sand them and then decorate them. Currently, I'm working in decoupage, adding an antique finish with a special formula I mix myself.
"My designs reveal a tiny bit of Mexico that I carry in my heart."
